About Us

Enabling people with autism to lead a dignified, independent life

About Nav Prabhuthi Trust

Nav Prabhuthi Trust (NPT) is a nonprofit organisation based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, committed to empowering young adults with autism through vocational training, life skills development, and community participation.

Established in 2013, NPT was created to address the growing need for structured vocational opportunities for individuals with autism and developmental disabilities. Our programmes focus on building practical skills that promote independence, self-confidence, and meaningful engagement in everyday life.

Young adults at NPT receive hands-on training in block printing, tailoring, embroidery, hand painting, paper crafts, packaging, computer skills, housekeeping, and daily living skills. Through our training programmes, participants develop both vocational competencies and social skills that prepare them for greater independence and employment opportunities.

Quality Skills Training for Independence

To provide quality skills training to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities for them to lead an independent life.

Before a student joins the centre, a detailed assessment is recommended to understand their strengths and identify areas to develop for a successful vocational placement. Our special educators then build an Individualised Education Programme (IEP) for each student, teaching a range of vocational activities to maximise potential and build self-sufficiency.

Vocational Skills

Product development in textiles—block printing and hand-printing techniques, tailoring, embroidery, and accessories—alongside paper-based products including printing, painting, and upcycling.

Technology Intervention

Basic computer use, keyboard skills, and data-entry training to build confidence with digital tools relevant to today's workplaces.

Therapeutic Activities

Therapeutic intervention through yoga, sports, and recreational activities that support focus, well-being, and physical health.

Family Empowerment

We empower families to better support their children and offer entrepreneurship programmes to mothers to help improve their economic conditions.

Building Futures Since 2013

Every parent is concerned about their child's future in the areas of vocation, employability, and independent living. This is an even greater concern when the child has special needs, as choices are limited in today's context. To address this, Nav Prabhuthi Trust was formed.

The Trust was established in June 2013 by a group of parents of individuals with autism, professionals in special education, and Rotarians from Rotary Bangalore West. The goal was to create a centre that provides skills training to help young adults with autism become financially self-sufficient. The centre presently caters to 24 young adults in Bangalore, and is among the few institutions dedicated to autism—a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition.
